Laura and Joe are some of the sweetest people we know and we were both very excited to photograph their wedding a couple of weeks ago. Their ceremony took place at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church and a reception dinner followed at the Crystal Springs Golf Course in Burlingame. Here are some of our favorites:

How adorable were Laura’s hot pink sparkly pumps? For me, it was love from first sight :)

Some colorful details of the beautiful Saint Gregory’s Catholic Church in San Mateo:

Waiting for the ceremony to start:

Love this dramatic exposure I saw of the processional from the church’s balcony. The afternoon sun lit up the church from one side and made for these beautiful pockets of light:

Here’s something you just can’t plan for your wedding – the weather. Laura and Joe’s wedding had the most beautiful sky I’ve ever seen. Just look at those beautiful and fluffy tropical clouds!

Cloudy sky on the wedding day

It was pretty windy at the Crystal Springs on this day and Laura’s dress was flapping in the wind and adding to the photographs:

We saw the most amazing clouds in the sky on this day!

Laura and Joe’s vintage getaway car was absolutely fantastic, loved every detail of it!

Kids are probably my favorite subject to photograph at weddings, they are always cute, always direct and really know how to have fun :) Loved this adorable little princess in a tiara!

My favorite First Dance photo of these two:

And I’ll finish this preview with my favorite cake-cutting photograph. Laura really, really didn’t want to get any of this cake in her face :)

We were both honored and excited recently by the opportunity to photograph the wedding of our friends Michelle and Sergio. It’s always a great compliment when people we know personally request any kind of photography whether it’s portraits, family photos, etc. but to be asked to capture a wedding is something we truly hold very dear. It’s inevitable that the better we get to know people whose wedding we’re capturing the more attached we become to the images and the moments of the day.

Michelle and Sergio’s wedding day started with preparations at the St. Regis Hotel in San Francisco. This is a very modern and elegant venue which also proved to be a great setting for bride and groom portraits. We shot in the suite, the hallways, and the lobby areas and really we could’ve continued for another couple of hours if it wasn’t time to head to the ceremony already :) Michelle and Sergio were great in collaborating with us as great photographs are always a team effort between us and our subjects.

Here’s a quick behind-the-scenes look just moments before the ceremony. Looks like Nat had plenty of big cameras at her side, but sometimes you just want a shot that can be shared right away :)

The intimate wedding ceremony took place at San Francisco’s City Hall where it was great to see all the love for them from their family:

Here, we also had another opportunity for portraits using the beautiful light and architecture of the City Hall:

Their wedding day just happened to be during Flight Week in San Francisco and it was great to see the Blue Angels on the skyline as we were preparing to cruise through the Bay:

I think it’s fair to say that a great time was had by all as we were cruising through the San Francisco Bay for the cocktail reception:

Michelle and Sergio were blessed with a warm and glowing sunset as the boat was docking back to the pier:

When we arrived, a quick speech prompted all kinds of great reactions from guests:

The dinner was held at the Boulevard restaurant on The Embarcadero:

This was one of the most FUN group photos we’ve ever taken!
