Blissful Wedding Photography in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.

Vikki and Derek were introduced to our photography through our website and booked us over the phone. Because of this we didn’t have a chance to meet them until their wedding day which always makes the start of the day very exciting. Many of our clients come to San Francisco Bay Area from all around the United States and it often happens that we don’t get to meet thems until later or even at all until their wedding day. I guess one of the benefits of being a wedding photographer is that we always know who your clients are, even if we’ve never met – it’s hard to miss a bride in her white wedding dress :) All jokes aside, our photography style is based on helping people to feel comfortable and getting to know their individual personalities. That’s why we always strongly recommend having an engagement session – it lets us get to know you better and for our clients get comfortable with the idea of being photographed.

This wedding day started for us with photographing Vikki’s finishing touches and a beautiful ceremony at Saint Patrick’s Church in SOMA. After that we walked all around the outside of the church while making use of the beautiful architecture of the surrounded buildings for portraits. We later crossed Mission Street and walked to Yerba Buena gardens for even more photographs. We love photographing in these gardens as they are a perfect mix of urban and nature, grungy brick walls and beautiful fresh trees. After a quick stop at City Hall for some portraits on the top floor we walked to the reception which was held just across the street in the Green Room (also known as the San Francisco War Memorial).

Not many people in San Francisco know about the existence of the Green Room – a stunning and elegant wedding venue located on the second floor of the War Memorial and Performing Arts Center. The room itself echoes the Veterans building facade with several sets of glass doors opening to a russet tiled balcony overlooking the City Hall. This gorgeous, large room has tall ivory and gold leafed ceilings which hold beautiful gold chandeliers.

Here are a few favorites from the day:

Wine Country weddings hold a very special place in our hearts. (There’s a reason why we also chose it as the location for our wedding!) It’s always so warm, colorful and inviting. Whitney and Mike’s wedding was not only in the heart of the Wine Country, but it was also held at a very special place – the Vine Hill House in Sebastopol.

Whitney did a fabulous job planning the wedding and bringing all the bits and pieces together. Everything was perfect though and through – from the wedding color palette which was chosen so it doesn’t interfere with the gorgeous landscape, to flip flops for the ladies and personalized wedding welcome bags. The Vine Hill House is surrounded by apple orchards, so Whitney and Mike had a couple of 3D apple tree models made with hanging apples as the escort cards.

This celebration truly had the essence of a Wine Country wedding – it was full of love, relaxed and warm, with lots of wine, yummy food and good friends. Here are our favorites from their day:

I was obsessed with the garden at the Vine Hill House – it was well-groomed, lush, and covered in pink hydrangeas, lavender and apple trees:

Cute shoes and beautiful flowers are truly my weaknesses. I think I’m addicted, but who wouldn’t be?

Mike was wearing his grandfather’s cufflinks and pin, such awesome personal touches!

We love, love, love “First Looks”! Whitney and Mike’s first look was one of the most beautiful and emotional ones I’ve seen and even the photographers got all teared-eyed behind the cameras:

The incredible view from the dinner reception area:

We sneaked out with the bride and groom from the reception for a few minutes during the sunset. Whitney was very excited about the portraits and up for anything, so when we carefully suggested the idea of sitting down right in the middle of the vineyard she didn’t hesitate for a second! Love the resulting images:
