Yelena and Andrey’s Wedding

It’s dark and rainy outside which pretty much means that the wedding season is mostly over. We had an amazing summer and fall full of fabulous weddings, each of them was different but all were beautiful and full of emotion. As promised, we are starting to catch up on blogging all of the gorgeous weddings we had a chance to photograph in San Francisco and around it.

We want to start off this series of posts with Yelena and Andrey’s wedding at the beautiful Hotel Nikko in San Francisco. Natasha and I felt a connection to this fun couple from the first time we met and we knew that their wedding will be full of emotion and wonderful candids.

This day started off with preparations and the “first look” at Hotel Nikko. It seems that the majority of Choco Studio couples this year have chosen to see each other before the ceremony and we couldn’t be more happy about it! Yelena and Andrey had the biggest limo we’ve ever seen: there were 14 people in it and it seemed to only be half full. We spent a couple of hours touring the city and hitting all of the great photo locations including The Embarcadero and Legion of Honor. We returned back to Hotel Nikko right in time for the ceremony and reception.

We’ve shot at Hotel Nikko before and were super excited to be there again. Their decor and lighting of the ballrooms is spectacular. The reception ballroom in particular is absolutely stunning with giant yellow lights that line the ceiling and great textures throughout. We could shoot there all day!

A quick portrait of Yelena just before she saw Andrey for the first time. I have to say that I absolutely adore veils. Nothing screams “wedding” to me more than a beautiful veil. This is one of my absolute favorites from the day and I love how calm and absolutely stunning Yelena is here:
