We are

CHOCO STUDIO

We are wedding photographers driven by a love of family and intimacy. Capturing authentic moments is our specialty.

Choco Studio was started in 2005 when we met. We’ve now photographed over 300 weddings together as a team.

We are a full service SF Bay Area photography studio that covers large weekend celebrations as well as intimate City Hall elopements.

Meet Nat and Mike

Originally from St. Petersburg, Russia, we met on a camping trip to Utah's national parks. Mike spent the whole time teaching Nat how to take better pictures. It was love at the first sight and Choco Studio was born six months later.

When we are not working you can find us hiking or just relaxing in the yard. Our favorite way to recharge our creativity is to get away from civilization. We love to spend a few days camping somewhere by a river.

Traveling brings us new perspectives and our love for adventure has brought us many amazing memories: Freezing our butts off on an overnight safari in an Indian desert. Hiking through tobacco fields in Cuba. Watching the sun rise over Black Rock City.

Family has always been very important for both of us. Nat misses hers because they are far away in Russia. Mike has not always been close with his. This is why we are so moved by the love and emotions we witness at every wedding.

Mike

“I believe that everyone has a story and if I don’t understand someone it’s only because I haven’t gotten to know them yet.”

“Mike is a chronic passion finder. In the years I’ve known him he’s been all into: snowboarding, cars, headphones, dogs, and now books. Thankfully not all at once.”

Music.
I’ll pretty much listen
to anything good :)

Beer.
There’s always at least
10 kinds in our fridge.

Playa.
My mornings don’t start
until I cuddle with her.

Nat

“ My insatiable travel bug brought us to many beautiful faraway places like Vietnam and Cambodia. And that miserable camping trip to the heart of Colombia’s jungle where we all got sick from the water was also my idea. ”

“ Nat loves crafty DIY projects. She always seems to think “let’s not buy it, we can just build it ourselves”. After the “quick” built-in bookshelves in our living room, those words send shivers down my spine. ”

Baking
is my idea
of meditation.

Walks.
I’d rather walk
than drive.

Being
barefoot.
