It was a pleasure to provide San Francisco Bat Mitzvah photography for a recent celebration at Palace Hotel. Mia’s coming of age festivity was full of more entertainment than any 12 year old can handle. :) There were amazing decorations, beautiful guests, and great musicians that got everyone dancing.
We loved getting to know Mia and photographing her family. She impressed us by being so gracious and mature for her age. I’m not exaggerating when I say that this was the most spectacular party for kids (and adults) that we’ve ever seen. There were dancing performances, an awesome band, t-shirt painting, and even an artist drawing face sketches. The beautiful affair had plenty of entertainment for adults as well. We were happy to capture all these amazing San Francisco Bat Mitzvah photography moments and details.
We especially liked the candle-lighting ceremony. Mia invited her closest family and friends to light the menorah. This was a way for Mia to honor and say thank you to the closest people in her life.
What is a Bat Mitzvah?
Bar and Bat Mitzvahs ceremonies are Jewish coming of age rituals. This signifies that a child’s is entering into adulthood. There is a lot of study and preparation that goes into preparing for this event. It’s usually done through a synagogue or Hebrew school and it can last for months or even years. Bat Mitzvah planning includes learning Hebrew and preparing for some adult responsibilities. It means becoming a Jewish adult.
The term “Bat Mitzvah” is usually used to reference the celebration. These words actually refer to the young girl that means at “Bat Mitzvah”. Jewish law considers you an adult from the age of twelve. The ceremony is when a girl becomes responsible for the fulfillment of mitzvahs.
