I absolutely adore California’s springtime – I think I can look at those green rolling hills forever. We usually try to go out to nature and hike as much as possible during this time of the year, as we all know that green hills don’t last long in California. We also try to schedule engagement sessions during this short period to capture some of the spring. Laura and Mike also love being outdoors and they found a perfect park for their engagement shoot – green and full of light. On a random weekday evening, it was just the four of us and a bunch of young deer chewing on some bushes in the parking lot.

This was my favorite photo location of the day – I just love how all that young green grass looks, so peaceful! Scroll down to see a more wide angle of the same photo though :)

 

Yeah, the grass in the picture is a tiny patch of greenery, and not a vast field. This picture reminds me of that Geico commercial where the gecko comes out to a parking lot after traveling thought seemingly endless fields of grass :) Fortunately Laura and Mike trusted us when we asked them to sit down on the shoulder of the paved road and to pretend they are in a prairie :)

Living in the Bay Area rocks! That’s what I think every time someone tells us about some cool place for portraits that’s new to us. Sayaka and Nate were really excited about having their session on the Albany Bulb – a former landfill turned into an urban art park in the East Bay.

Sayaka and Nate – thank you so much for being adventurous, we had so much fun playing around with all of the different art! Seriously, where else do we get to photograph a couple in a Shoe Tree? :)

We just loved shooting this session! It was a day before Christmas and Golden Gate Park was pretty much empty. We walked all the way around the De Young Museum, climbed the Temple of Music and slowly made our way up to Stow Lake.
