Nina and Sergey’s Engagement Session!

There are many different styles of photography and in some of them a connection between the model and photographer may not be very important. In our case, however, this connection is absolutely essential.

Our goal at Choco Studio is to create natural and intimate images for our couples, to capture people just how (and who!) they are, with no masks. In order to accomplish this we have to get to know our couples well and trust plays a very big part in how successful the session will turn out. In life, masks come off only when people really trust each other.

It may be that this openness and trust between us and our couples is the reason we become friends with many of our clients. It’s not that often, however, when we are honored to have our friends also become our clients. This is why we were really excited when Nina and Sergey asked us if we’d be their wedding photographers. We’ve known these guys for years and have been through many adventures together – from wading frigid creeks while backpacking together to skiing in Tahoe. We knew that Nina and Sergey will give us a complete creative freedom and we were excited to go play!
